Prep Basketball: Lady Lions extend winning streak to 19 games

The Statesville Christian Lady Lions roared to a 94-21 win over Hickory Christian on Tuesday night to extend their season-opening winning streak to 19 games.

Everyone on the Lady Lions' roster scored, and five Lady Lions reached double figures. The Statesville Christian defense smothered the Lady Nights and recorded 26 steals.

Senior Amy Holchin led the way with 17 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and three assists. Jordan Ellis added 19 points and five assists..

Mallory Sherrill (17 points), Brenna Rae Bentley (12 points) and Aasia McNeill (11 points) also scored in double figures for Statesville Christian. Jordan Peters added nine points, Anna Blue Bentley had seven and Meeka Snider chipped in two points.

At 19-0 overall and 4-0 in the SPAA, the Lady Lions have the best record in the program's history. They return to action Friday when they host Woodlawn School at 5:30 p.m.
