Greyhounds, Vikings to host first-round games in NCHSAA soccer playoffs

All seven public high schools in Iredell County qualified for the NCHSAA soccer playoffs. All first-round games are scheduled for Wednesday.

The Class 1A and 4A fields have 48 teams. The Class 2A and 3A fields have 64 teams.

The state championship games for all four classes are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18, at Dail Field at N.C. State University in Raleigh.

Here's the run-down of first-round games involving local teams:

Class 1A

• Pine Lake Prep (17-1-1) is the No. 1 seed in the West Region. The Pride received a first round bye and will face the winner of No. 16 West Montgomery (10-5-0)-No. 17 Blue Ridge Early College (10-7-0) game.

Class 2A

• West Iredell (9-11-2) is the No. 26 seed in the West Region. The Warriors will face No. 7 Wilkes Central (19-3-0) in the first round.

Class 3A

• Statesville (18-3-2) is the No. 3 seed in the West Region. The Greyhounds will host No. 30 Kings Mountain (15-5-2) in the first round.
• South Iredell (10-8-1) is the No. 15 seed in the West Region. The Vikings will host No. 18 Erwin (13-7-2) in the first round.
• North Iredell (10-5-2) is the No. 29 seed in the West Region. The Raiders will travel to Concord to face No. 4 Cox Mill (13-4-3) in the first round.

Class 4A

• Mooresville (12-9-0) is the No. 12 seed in the West Region. The Blue Devils will host No. 21 North Meck (13-7-2) in the first round.
• Lake Norman (11-9-2) is the No. 20 seed in the West Region. The Wildcats will take on Britt (12-9-3) in the first round.
