Carolina Alliance wins Gatlinburg Labor Day Invitational

Carolina Alliance, a U.S. Club Soccer team based in Statesville, won the high school division of the Gatlinburg Labor Day Invitational over the weekend. It was the team's first tournament. Comprised of players from several nearby high schools, the Alliance defeated RYSA Revolution 00 Blue, the ninth-ranked team in Georgia, in the finals. The team went 2-0-1 in group play and conceded only one goal in four matches, while scoring 10 times, en route to the championship.
