Katherine Elizabeth Jackson Adeyemi

Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth Jackson Adeyemi, beloved daughter of Reverend Scott Jackson Jr., and the late Lacier Anna Harris Jackson, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 29, 1956. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 30, 2017, following an extended illness.

She attended Amityville High School, Amityville, N.Y., Stoney Brook University, Long Island, N.Y., and Mitchell Community College, Statesville, N.C. She was married to the late Festus Adeyemi. From that union, one son was born. She worked as a teacher with disabled children at the Statesville Housing Authority, from where she later retired. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lacier Anna Harris, and her husband, Festus Adeyemi.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Reverend Scott Jackson Jr., of Statesville; one son, Adrkuvle (Kimberlee) Adeyemi; two brothers, Vincent Taylor Jackson of Statesville and Stanley ( Denise) Brown of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters, LaSarah Jackson of Statesville and Marlena Jackson of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Adaja T. Adeyemi of Albemarle; Mikaila E. Adeyemi of Kernersville; three uncles, Reverend James Jackson, Albert Jackson, and Isiah Jackson, all of Statesville; one aunt, Mary Alice (William) Mitchell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, at New Birth Worship Center, 1033 Newbirth Drive, East Bend, N.C., with Dr. James L. E. Hunt officiating.

Rutledge & Bigham Mortuary is serving the family of Ka.therine Elizabeth Jackson Adeyemi.
