Ida E. Meador, 96, has passed on to be reunited with her one true love, on November 2, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 7, 1921, on the Iroquois Reservation in Caughnawaga, Canada, to the late Peter and Cecilia Deerfoot Roberts. Ida lived such an amazing life between the Native American lifestyle of pow wows and traditions to the fun extreme side of traveling with the carnival and her family of clowns. Granny Goose was a loving and caring mother, world's best grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her one true love, Coye Meador; great-great-grandson, Israel; son-in-law, Nick Mercadante; brothers, Dave, Joey, Frank and Johnny and sister, Agnes.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughters, Loretta Mercadante, Jean (Tom) Kraus and Elaine (Jerry) Lumsden; grandchildren, Billy Cessna, John Cessna, Curt Mercadante, Michele Sandstrom, Danny Sandstrom, Joel Sandstrom, Aaron Stancodi, Jennifer Kelly, Nicole Guifarro and Ashley Kelly; great-grandchildren, Billy, Matt, Coye, Colton, Anna, Dominick, Sonny, Rocco, Kelly, Dominique, Joseph, Samantha, Antonio, Rocco, Rayne, Dominic, Gianna, Madison, Savannah and Paxton; great-great-grandchildren, Mason,Kylah, Coye Jr., Giovanni, Armanii and Zoey and many other loving family members.
The family will gather on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville, NC.
Gin Rummy, Strip Poker and Cocktails to follow in Moravian Falls.
Granny Goose will be laid to rest at a later date in Calverton National Cemetery in New York.
Our life will never be the same without her, but forever be changed because of her.
