Dewey Campbell McDaniel
Dewey Campbell McDaniel, 75, of Cleveland, N.C., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 28, 2017. Dewey was born on May 1, 1942, in Rowan County to the late William Flowe and Rebecca Campbell McDaniel. Dewey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer during the Vietnam War and was an expert marksman. He was also a member of BETA Club, enjoyed walking and hiking outdoors. He was the owner/operator of McDaniel Pallets and also was employed by Fiber Industries for 32 years. Dewey was an excellent husband, a great father, loving grandfather and grea- grandfather and was loved and will be missed by many.
Dewey was predeceased by his son, Dewey D. McDaniel in 2015; his brother Dennis McDaniel and his sister, Doris McDaniel. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carolyn Robinson McDaniel; his daughter, Jill Cline and her husband Michael of Cleveland; his brother, Delmar McDaniel of Salisbury; his sister, Donna Kesler of Cleveland; his 3 grandchildren, Caitlyn Robinson and her husband Daniel, Casey and Cara Cline; 3 great-grandchildren, Asher, Beckett and Everly Anne Robinson; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, 705 Davie Ave., Statesville. A funeral service will be celebrated at 2pm in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rowan County Hospice and Palliative Care in Dewey's memory.
