AnnaMay Darst Perry
AnnaMay Darst Perry, 72, of Troutman, N.C., formerly of Statesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 9, 2017. Mrs. Perry was born on May 28, 1945 in Point Pleasant, W.Va., to the late Clifford and Frances Darst.
AnnaMay was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Theodore Perry, in 2016 and is survived by her sons, William Perry III of Troutman and Jospeh Ryan Perry of Statesville; her daughters, Teresa Gillespie and her husband Jeff of Statesville, Tangie Cox and her husband Jim of Stony Point and Sheila Benfield and her companion John McLain of Troutman; her brother, Bob Darst of Florida; her sister, Marcia Nibert of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, Billy McClary of Troutman.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at Ostwalt Baptist Church, 198 Ostwalt Amity Road, Troutman, with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. The burial of her cremated remains will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville, after the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a memorial donation be made in AnnaMay's memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
