Sheriff: Operation Southbound results in five arrests

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced Tuesday morning that ICSO deputies had arrested multiple suspects as part of "Operation Southbound."

The arrests were the result of an investigation that began when ICSO narcotics investigators received tips about criminal activity via social media, emails and discussions with community members, Campbell said in a news release.

This operation targets individuals selling illegal drugs in the Town of Mooresville and the surrounding areas.

Narcotics investigators conducted hundreds of hours of surveillance in an effort to gather information on suspects, Campbell said. Based on this information, along with other investigative aids, investigators made undercover purchases of various types of illegal drugs. More arrests are anticipated, Campbell said.

The following suspects face charges:

Viktoria Alexis Caryl, 21, of Kemp Road, Mooresville, is charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance; two counts of felony sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance; one count of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance; one count of felony sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance; and one count of felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place to sell controlled substances. Her bond was set at $75,0000.

Tristan Randy Charles Strickland, 18, of Shipyard Pointe Drive, Mooresville, is charged with one count of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, and one count of felony sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. His bond was set at $8,000.

Michael Gregory Simms, 27, of Kalista Lane, Mooresville, is charged with one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance, and one felony count of sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance. His bond was set at $1,000.

Mattie Shay Lindley, 26, of Kalista Lane, Mooresville, is charged with one felony count of conspire to sell or deliver schedule III controlled substance. Her bond was set at $5,000.

Kamaron Lane McKenzie, 46, of Glenwood Drive, Mooresville, is charged with one felony count of possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule VI oil, and one felony count of sell and deliver schedule VI oil. Her bond was set at $10,000.
