Veterans Day Ceremony

When: Friday, Nov. 10, 11 a.m. to 12 noon
Where: Mitchell Community College, 500 W Broad Street, Statesville
Details: Ceremony will be held on the circle with guest speaker Captain Jane E. Campbell, retired United States Navy Public Affairs Officer.


Troutman Holiday Market Craft Show

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Troutman ESC Park, 338 North Avenue, Troutman
Details: The 2nd Annual Holiday Market Craft Show hosted by 3rd Creek Bluegrass and Troutman Farmers Market. Open to all craft vendors of handmade, specialty, artisan and specialized products. For more information email ewatson@troutmannc.gov


Living History Day

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Gregory Creek Homestead, 1335 Museum Road, Statesville
Details: Join us at Gregory Creek Homestead to experience NC Backcountry life for yourself. This living history event will feature live educational interpretations of what life for the early settlers of the Carolinas may have been like. You will have the opportunity to experience kitchen life, participate in common children's activities of the mid-18th Century, and peek inside the reproduction cabins owned by Iredell Museums. 4th Annual Miss Merry Christmas Pageant

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 10:30 a.m.
Where: Statesville Montessori School, 1012 Harmony Drive, Statesville
Details: Sponsored by The Carolina Dogwood Festival Committee. All contestants will be judged on beauty, poise and on-stage presence, including a response to "What do you like most about Christmas?" Required attire is an age-appropriate holiday wear of choice. Photogenic competition is an optional category. Winners receive a crown, monogrammed sash and trophy. Deadline for application is Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. Entry fee is $40, fees received after deadline will be $50. Admission is $5,children 3 and under are free.


Christmas Extravaganza

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Fairview Baptist Church, 349 Turnersburg Highway, Statesville
Details: Lots of vendors in time for your holiday shopping. Proceeds benefit the Kenya Mission trip.


Pork BBQ Fundraiser

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: New Perth ARP Church, 204 West Ave W, Troutman
Details: Hosted by Help Ministries of Troutman. Eat in or Take Out. Donations will go to Help Ministries of Troutman. Plates include BBQ, slaw, beans, roll and homemade dessert.


Fall Frenzy Cheerleading Competition

When: Sunday, Nov. 12, 2 p.m.
Where: West Iredell High School, 213 Warrior Drive, Statesville
Details: West Iredell High School's first annual Iredell County Cheerleading Competition. Looking to build and unite the elementary and middle school teams through fun competition. Come watch cheerleaders from several Elementary schools in Iredell County compete. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for students and children 5 and under are free.
