The couple's impact has been felt nationally and in Iredell County. John Roueche graduated from Mitchell College in 1958.

Since 2002, the Roueches have contributed full-time scholarships to support ten Mitchell students per year. In 2015, they established an endowed scholarship with the Mitchell’s Endowment for Excellence– the John & Suanne Roueche Endowed Scholarship Fund – allowing the fund to benefit students in perpetuity.
