Why Join Relay For Life?
One in three women and one in two men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. One of those people could be you or someone you love. That's why we Relay. When you join us at Relay for Life of Statesville, you're helping the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking research, crucial patient care programs, and education and prevention information. When you Relay, you help save lives.
Celebrate & Remember with a Luminaria
We remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those in treatment by dedicating Luminaria bags and Tiki Torches. Each Luminaria is personalized with a name and or message and illuminated after dark at the Relay for Life event. The form can be found on the website listed above.
“With Relay, we really are all in this together. We are united in the fact that we want to celebrate, remember, and fight back. Together, we truly can make a difference, and it takes each and every one of us to do so. Joining Relay for Life is one of the most rewarding, and beneficial things I have ever done, and I encourage every single person who comes across this article to get involved in any way you can. In the end, cancer sucks, and if we all work together we know no one is ever alone in the fight, said organizer, JadaThompson. “This is my last year leading the event but I will always be a part of Relay in helping anyway that I can.”
“We are all very passionate about Relay for Life, but we couldn’t do it without the generous donation from National Balloon Charities, all of our wonderful Sponsors, hardworking volunteers, patrons, and all of you that come out each year to support this POWERFUL movement towards finding a cure!” Thompson added.
