Theatre Statesville performances of 'Barefoot in the Park' begin April 12
Special to SVLfreenews.com
Theatre Statesville is excited to bring one of Neil Simon’s best plays, "Barefoot in the Park," to the stage at Twisted Oak American Bar & Grill in Downtown Statesville.
Evening performances are schedule for April 12-14 and April 19-21 and a matinee for April 22.
"Barefoot in the Park" is a romantic comedy focusing on a pair of newlyweds as they begin married life in a tiny, fifth-floor walkup apartment in a Manhattan brownstone. Adjusting to married life isn’t as easy as they had thought and, as they navigate their own personal differences, they quickly realize that marriage cannot survive on love alone.
This show is being directed by Sharon Davies Sigler. She has been performing on stage since she was 4 years old, playing Katie the Kangaroo at the Met in New York City. Her love for theatre, both acting and directing, is only surpassed by her love for her amazing children, incredible granddaughter and beyond special friends.
When asked about the upcoming production, Sigler said, “This show, though written in the '60s, is just as relevant today. You will laugh, you will cry, you will walk away with love and hope.”
Tickets are $15 for all shows and can be purchased online at www.statesvilletheatre.com, which is recommended due to imited seating, or at the door. In-theatre dinner seating is available from 6 to 7:15 p.m. for evening performances with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. By special arrangement with Twisted Oak, there will be a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 22. On this date, doors will open at noon for lunch and the show will begin at 2 p.m.
