LNHS band plans Oct. 8 concert to benefit victims of hurricanes

The Lake Norman High School Band, under the direction of Chris Brown, is hosting a mass concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, to benefit the victims from recent hurricanes.

Admission to the concert, which will be held in the football stadium, is by donation and all funds, including concession proceeds, will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse, earmarked for “Hurricane Relief Efforts.”

The repertoire is as follows:

"A Song for Friends", by Larry Daehn
"Into the Storm", by Robert W. Smith
"America the Beautiful", by Carmen Dragon
"Caribbean Rondo", by Pierra LaPlante

Along with students at all levels, local musicians are welcome to participate. Musicians are asked to provide their own music, chair and stand and report to the stadium at Lake Norman High School at 1 p.m.
