Book signing scheduled for Friday at GG's during Art Crawl
FROM STAFF REPORTS
GG's Arts, Frames and Gifts will host author Billie-Fae Gerard Gill during the Fall Art Crawl in Downtown Statesville on Friday evening.
Gill, the author of The Sergeant Major's Wife, will visit with guests and sign copies of her book from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. GG's is located at 110 West Boad Street.
The book is a first-person account of Gill's experiences between 1949 and 1969, when her husband, William Thomas Gill, served in the U.S. Army. The narrative covers the Korean War, the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and more.
In the author's notes, Gill explains that the focus of the book is on her experience as an Army wife – not her husband's military adventures and accomplishments. She exposes "little known secrets of Army life" and sheds light on the love, patience and sacrifices that spanned 61 years of marriage.
The Sergeant Major's Wife was published on September 8 is available in print from Amazon.
Gill has also scheduled a book signing at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, at the Iredell County Public Library in Statesville.
About Art Crawl
The Art Crawl is a juried art exhibit that will showcase over 50 artists in over 25 different shops, businesses and restaurants scattered throughout the heart of Downtown Statesville. The concept is simple – come downtown and walk from location to location, meet the artists and enjoy their work (maybe make a purchase), browse through the shops hosting the artists while enjoying the social mingling with others out to have a fun time.
