NAMI offers free suicide-prevention training in Statesville
Special to SVLfreenews.com
NAMI Lake Norman-Iredell is sponsoring a free suicide-prevention education program at the Iredell County Library on Thursday, June 22.
QPR is a 90-minute training program created by the QPR Institute for Suicide Prevention to assist with suicide prevention education. QPR training provides three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
QPR Training is free. Participation is limited to 30 people.
Date: Thursday, June 22
Location: Iredell County Library, 201 N Tradd Street, Statesville
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
